Week 10: Reflection

My AI Assisted Story Book: Refelction Questions: Compare your experience: creating a story on your own VS. using AI to assist. When writing my own story, I was able to come up with a baseline idea rather quickly, however in the 10 minutes we had to write it, I was only able to get through introducing the characters and the first major event. Writing this story completely on my own would have taken a super long time. Using the AI to assist was a huge  help because I was able to ask it to write a story with the baseline idea I came up with and it wrote the entire story within a minute. I was then able to go through and put my own touch on the story Chat GPT wrote with my idea. How can you use these AI programs effectively, efficiently, and meaningfully in school settings as a teacher? As a t eacher you can use these programs in a similar way, we did with this story project. Say if you are planning a lesson and want to pair a book with it, but you cannot find one what you like...

My Parody Art Painting: Title: Piranha Plants My Parody Art Description: I created my Parody Painting with Piranha Plants from the iconic video game Super Mario. The piece was made from a sketch that I then filled in with different colors of paint. My painting is a parody of the famous painting by Vincent Van Gogh titled “ Sunflowers. ” My take on the parody has its similarities and differences from the original. I used the same style for the vase and the background as Van Gogh but instead of the vase being filled with different sunflowers, it is full of some hungry piranha plants and spiky green leaves! I also used a green & blue color scheme in my parody, rather than the oranges & yellows used by Van Gogh. Sunflowers By Vincent Van Gogh: This is the famous artwork that inspired my parody painting

Article Reflection: What could be your steps (maybe 3 or 4) to introduce children to different artists and specific art elements such as color, style, form, and content? My steps for introuducing kindergraten students to different artists would to first show them a bunch of different artwork by the artist and ask them to look at it and tell me what they see/describe it. Then I would present small little facts about the artist such as their name, and some famous pieces they made. Then I would show them some physical pictures in small groups to look at and examine. Then I would have them create their own picture following the artist's style. My Parody Sketch + Artist's Real Work: I created a parody of Van Gogh Sunflower painting! I used the same shape of the pot, but instead of being filled with sunflowers it is filled with Piranha Plants from Super Mario. I created the sketch by following outlines on the computer.
