Week 7: Reflection

 Article Reflection:

• What could be your steps (maybe 3 or 4) to introduce children to different artists and specific art elements such as color, style, form, and content?

• My steps for introuducing kindergraten students to different artists would to first show them a bunch of different artwork by the artist and ask them to look at it and tell me what they see/describe it. Then I would present small little facts about the artist such as their name, and some famous pieces they made. Then I would show them some physical pictures in small groups to look at and examine. Then I would have them create their own picture following the artist's style.

My Parody Sketch + Artist's Real Work:

• I created a parody of Van Gogh Sunflower painting! I used the same shape of the pot, but instead of being filled with sunflowers it is filled with Piranha Plants from Super Mario. I created the sketch by following outlines on the computer.

• Have you come up with any new ideas to redesign or elaborate on this week's activities?

• Having missed Monday's class from being sick, I am not fully sure how this activity was introduced. The activity itself is a super fun way to learn about artists around the world because we were able to research a bunch of famous artwork and decide which one we wanted to create a parody of. This allowed us to be able to be creative and express what we wanted to recreate rather than being assigned a painting.

• Tell me about how this week's activities impacted you

• This week's activity impacted me by showing me how important art is for the classroom and understanding the history of the art around the world. This would be a fun activity to tie into my future classroom during social studies when we are learning about a certain country we can look at famous artists who lived there and create parody art based on it,
